the car seat footrest

Want comfort while driving with your child? See why the leg support in the car seat is important.

How can you tell that your child needs the KneeGuardKids adjustable car seat footrest?

Your child kicks into the back of the seat in front or leans against it with their shoes.

A few minutes into the journey and your child cannot sit still, starts to take off their shoes, or cross their legs.

Your child is grumpy, has sore legs or a sore back.

Your child complains of pins and needles.

Keep your kid's proper blood circulation

Prevent blood circulation problems and numbness caused by pressure on your legs against the edge of the seat.

Stable position of the spine

The footrest optimally supports the children's legs, ensuring the correct position of the spine.

Reduced muscle tension

It helps to avoid discomfort that causes children to cross their legs or kick into the back of the front seat to reduce muscle stress.

Optimally relieved joints

Avoid kids’ legs leaning against the backrest of the seat in front. In this position, in the event of an accident or even an emergency braking, the limbs will most likely suffer multiple injuries.

KneeGuardKids grows with your child...

9-18kg car seats

Small children need proper ankle angle support because as their feet dangle they pull down on their joints and muscles – in 9-18kg car seats feet sit at a 40 degree angle. We recommend using the footrest angle switch to adjust the postition of the child’s feet and ensure feet are fully supported and rested.

15-36kg car seats

In 15-36kg car seats, children’s feet usually hang horizontally so they don’t need ankle angle support. Here what we need to do is properly support feet from underneath to relieve pressure off the muscles and joints. As the child grows, we can gradually lower the footrest platform vertically, taking into account individual needs and adjusting it to the exact length of the child’s legs.
The footrest can be firmly attached between the car seat and the seat of a vehicle equipped with the ISOFIX system, as well as without it. KneeGuardKids can be installed in any car, as long as the space behind the front seat is at least 22 cm. The footrest cannot be used with car seats or bases with a floor leg.
